Tester agreement
Last updated 29 October 2026.
Thanks for helping test Lyra. These are the ground rules, kept as short and plain as we could make them. By downloading or using Lyra, you agree to them. Lyra is made by one independent developer, called "we" below.
1. What this is
Lyra is unfinished test software, free to use during testing. It will have bugs. Features may change, break or be removed, and the test may pause or end at any time, with or without notice.
2. Who can take part
You need to be 18 or over and have been invited by us. Your invite, access code and download are for you only. Please don't share or resell them, or post the installer anywhere. If an access code is shared, we may switch it off.
3. You're the pilot
Lyra presses keys in your game when you ask it to, and it can misunderstand you. You stay responsible for your ship and what happens in the game. Keep an eye on what Lyra does, and don't rely on it in situations where a mistake would cost you. We're not responsible for lost ships, rebuy costs, cargo, credits, missions or anything else lost in the game.
4. Play fair
- Follow Frontier's terms for Elite Dangerous. Don't use Lyra to play while you're away from your PC, or for anything Frontier doesn't allow.
- Don't try to get around usage limits, copy or reverse-engineer Lyra, or misuse our server, for example by using it for things that aren't Lyra.
- Don't send Lyra anything hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit or illegal. The user agreement explains this rule in full.
If someone breaks these rules, we may end their access.
5. Your feedback
Feedback is the point of testing, so thank you. You're free to give it, and we're free to use it to improve Lyra, without owing anything for it.
6. Your data
Lyra sends your game information and what you say to our server and to Google's Gemini AI to produce replies. The privacy notice explains this in full.
7. Ownership
Lyra, its software and its name belong to us. We give you permission to install and use it for your own play during the test. That permission ends when the test ends, when you stop taking part, or if we end your access.
8. No guarantees
Because this is free test software, we provide it "as is", without promises that it will work, be available, or be free of errors. As far as the law allows, we're not liable for any loss or damage from using Lyra. Nothing here removes rights you have by law that can't be removed, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Not Frontier
Lyra is an independent project and isn't made, endorsed or supported by Frontier Developments. Please don't contact Frontier about Lyra.
10. Changes and ending
We may update this agreement during testing. If a change matters, we'll email testers. You can stop at any time by uninstalling Lyra, and you can ask us to delete your data. Paid plans, when they come, will have their own terms.
